We believe in a more intelligent, flexible and interconnected energy system. Therefore, it is our mission to provide access to unique data from the energy sector for the benefit of new digital solutions that accelerate the green transition – in Denmark and worldwide.
By providing specifik services to both industry and academia, we hope to lower technical and economical barriers of the development of digital and sustainable energy solutions.

We provide access to a wide range of data from the energy sector. Some data are open to all users, while some data will require a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
EnergyDataDK collects historical and real-time data from specific data points throughout Denmark.
Create a user to explore the platform and the available data.
Upon request, private workspaces can be created, where registered users can work confidentially with selected data packages.
The available data can consist of both open data and data from specific research projects.
EnergyDataDK provides the opportunity to collect and store data in real time and assist control of actuators by subscribing to data streams.
Data is collected from sensors in associated living laboratories and delivered as real-time data streams via a message broker. In addition, the data is available as historical data via API and as CSV download from the website.
The user's own computers and controllers can subscribe to data, and this allows building real-time applications where a number of open and/or private data streams are combined and processed to generate control signals for actuators. These actuators can control the users own asset. Similarly, computers/controllers in one of the connected living labs can subscribe to data and use this to manage assets.
Through collaboration with PowerLabDK, EnergyDataDK offers the opportunity to make energy system simulations on a Real Time Digital System Simulator (RTDS), including the option of hardware-in-the-loop testing with a closed loop and implement real-time solutions, e.g. assessment of the stability and safety of electrical systems.
This will give the user the opportunity to develop and test digital control solutions under normal and abnormal conditions as well as carry out systematic tests of solutions.
It is possible to expand a simulation with definition of measuring points with and stream data to EnergyDataDK for collection.
Through collaboration with DTU HPC, EnergyDataDK offers the opportunity to analyze and process data on a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster. This makes it possible to analyze more advanced data faster, thereby expanding the possibilities for developing and testing new digital energy solutions. This will allow systematic testing of solutions in a very large number of cases.
We offer cooperation with PowerLabDK, which is a world-class experimental platform with expertise in technology development, testing and demonstration of sustainable energy solutions. PowerLabDK carries out research and innovation on all scales, from component to system level. The platform contains flexible testing laboratories and large experimental facilities.
There is great potential in being able to integrate the data from EnergyDataDK with physical facilities and infrastructure to test unique digital solutions. Solutions that could be the glue that will bind the energy system of the future together.
We offer visualization tools to help present data. For example, using map-based visualizations to predict consumption, show energy flows or visualize the operation of an energy system based on data.
Thanks to our collaboration with PowerLabDK, EnergyDataDK can deliver ground-breaking knowledge to our users and to the development of their digital energy technology solutions.
We deliver world-leading expertise through a collaboration with DTU's Institute for Wind and Energy Systems and PowerLabDK's own technical staff with knowledge of tomorrow's technologies due to the interaction with the latest modern research and strong international anchoring.
We offer various test and demonstration options at all scales – either completely virtual or in conjunction with physical elements and/or infrastructure. The platform supports testing, development and validation of your product to accelerate your development and market readiness.
EnergyDataDK is continuously developed in collaboration with our partners.
EnergyDataDK was originally supported by EUDP and was completed in August 2022. EnergyDataDK has subsequently been further developed and expanded with, among other things, data from Bornholm with support from the EU. EnergyDataDK now functions as an independent data platform and hub for digital solutions.
EnergyDataDK is part of DTU’s PowerLabDK and is a digital hub for testing and developing digital energy solutions.
