Legal basis for processing personal data

DTU processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Recording your consent for using the EnergyDataDK data service.
  • Monitoring that our service works as intended e.g., by identifying problems.
  • Developing new features.
  • Resolving disputes.

The legal basis for DTU‘s processing of your personal data is based on Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR.

Personal data categories

DTU processes the following categories of personal data about you:

At sign-up:

  • name
  • email address

When accessing EnergyDataDK:

  • The accessing client’s IP address
  • Time of access
  • Which data was accessed

Data sharing with third-parties

We do not share your personal data. However, Inilab Aps, a partner who assists in the development and operation of EnergyDataDK, can access your personal data.

Transfer third countries or international organizations

We do not transfer your personal data to recipients outside the EU and the EEA.

Retention period

Logging of data access is kept for 36 months (3 years)

Your rights as a data subject

According to the Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights with respect to DTU‘s processing of your personal data. These are listed below.
If you wish to invoke any of these rights, you must contact DTU.

Right of access

You are entitled to access to the data which DTU processes pertaining to you.

Right to rectification

You have the right to demand rectification of incorrect information about you.

Right to deletion

You have the right to deletion of your personal data in advance of the date set for DTU’s general deletion of your personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have invoked your right to restriction of the processing, DTU shall henceforth exclusively process your personal data (with the exception of storage), with your consent or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest.

Right to object

You have the right to object to DTU’s otherwise legal processing of your personal data.

Right to transmit data (dataportability)

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit this data to another data controller without hindrance.
